Five Pillars

Food safety is a very serious public health issue throughout the world. In Canada, there are five materials in the food supply that stand approved contrary to the requirements of the Food & Drugs Act: hormones, antibiotics, slaughterhouse waste, GMOs, and pesticides.

Canada has the ability to produce abundant organic food but organic food cannot be truly organic until these five materials are removed from food and agricultural production.

In the European Union, growth hormones, antibiotics, and slaughterhouse waste are not allowed to be utilized in food and agricultural production. The European Union has also been reducing the use of certain pesticides.

Safety of genetically modified crops is a highly contentious issue worldwide. Many countries do not allow the cultivation or sale of genetically modified crops in their jurisdiction for reasons of public health safety. Canada and the United States are the only two countries where GMOs are allowed to be cultivated and sold without any such concerns.
